The
Massachusetts Office of Technical Assistance for Toxics Use Reduction (TUR)
presented a "Certificate of Partnership" to
Cranston Print Works, Webster Division, for successfully eliminating the
annual use of 2.66 million pounds of sulfuric acid from their process. This
presentation was in recognition for both our early leadership in the TUR
program by setting high standards of performance and our willingness to talk
publicly about our success in reducing our use of toxic materials. This
success story has been instrumental in helping inspire more than 1000
Massachusetts businesses. The Certificate was accompanied by presentations
from both the Massachusetts House and Senate.

Cleaner Technology Demonstration Site for the
Toxic Use Reduction Institute, holding four sessions
of approximately 20 people each, in which Cranston shared details of four
toxic use reduction achievements.

gave Cranston Print Works Certification of inclusion
in its Encouraging Environmental
Excellence Program.

The Worcester Business Journal and
Massachusetts Audubon Society gave Cranston Print Works its Worcester
Environmental Award for elimination of 2.6 million
pounds of sulfuric acid annually and 65 percent overall reduction of use of
regulated materials.

Quinebaug Rivers Association issued a
"Resolution of Appreciation",
to the Webster Division following a joint agreement for control of the level
of Webster Lake to augment summertime flows in the French River.

Cranston Print Works was recognized on the
Massachusetts Honor Roll on Innovation and
Discovery for efforts in reduction of air emissions.
1990
The
State of North Carolina
honored Cranston Print Works with a
Certificate for Environmental Projects, for innovative disposal of
wastewater sludge in our coal fired boiler, the first such system in the
United States.
